The New 1934 Live From Broadway Broadcast Revue

Return to those glorious radio days of yesteryear, and join the studio audience at Birdland, Heaven’s Hottest Hot Spot, as Broadway’s legendary producer Florenz Ziegfeld gathers some of the greatest stars of the 20st Century for one last hurrah, a holiday broadcast like no other, direct from the other side. Broadway stars from the present portray a bevy of Broadway stars from the past in this original immersive musical revue, inspired by the radio show The Ziegfeld Follies of the Air which was broadcast from 1932 to 1936.

Ziegfeld Follies Of The Air: The New 1934 Live From Broadway Broadcast Revue stars Tony Award winning legend and international stage and film star Liliane Montevecchi as Mistinguett, Loni Ackerman (No, No, Nannette, Evita) as Fanny Brice, Drama Desk nominee Shelly Burch (Nine, Show Boat, One Life to Live) as Helen Morgan, Erin Cronican (The Seeing Place Theater) as Marilyn Miller, Marcy DeGonge Manfredi (Cats, Phantom of the Opera) as Jane Froman, Carole Demas (Grease, The Magic Garden) as Billie Burke, David Giardina as Will Rogers, Lee Horwin (Jacques Brel is Alive & Well, The Tonight Show) as Libby Holman, Candice Oden (The Seeing Place Theater) as Ruth Etting, Tony Award nominee Walter Willison (Two By Two, Pippin, Grand Hotel) as Eddie Dowling, Virginia Wing (Chu-Chem) as Mrs. Wong, Sheila Wormer as Matilda “Goldie” Clough, and acclaimed ballroom dancers Heather Gehring and Lou Brockman (Boardwalk Empire) as Renee and Tony DeMarco. Also featured are Jamie Buxton, Chelsie Nectow, Taylor James Hopkins, Matthew McFarland and Ian Whitt with Mark York (Just Jim Dale)as Paul Whiteman at the piano.

Ziegfeld Follies of the Air is devised and directed by Walter Willison, Associate Artistic Director of The Ziegfeld Society and director of the critically acclaimed Grand Hotel: The 25th Anniversary Reunion Concert Musical direction and special musical arrangements are by Mark York, Jim Dale’s accompanist and on stage sidekick in the Roundabout’s Just Jim Dale Off-Broadway and in London, and musical coordinator for songwriter Jerry Herman. Costumes are by Mitchell Bloom (Assistant Costume Designer of The Metropolitan Opera, Grand Hotel, The Will Rogers Follies) and Sound Design by Emmy Award winner Stuart J. Allyn (Dreamgirls).

The original musical revue features songs by such legendary songwriters as Irving Berlin, Howard Dietz and Arthur Schwartz, Vernon Duke, George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin, Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II, Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, P.G, Wodehouse, B.G. DeSylva, Robert Wright and George Forrest and many more.
